Wine and Cheese with great views!
The Launch Event was last Thursday (23rd May) featured archival images of the London Bridge area provided by Southwark Council and the London Metropolitan Archives. They range from 1865 to 1985 and show such events as industry, major developments and everyday life – these are shown next to modern day examples of the growing London Bridge area and was part of an open call to photographers through @IdeasTap ‘Team London Bridge: Photographic Exhibition’.
Three of my own images were featured and will be displayed as part of a two-week public show at The Underdog Gallery in SE1 – the launch is for Team London Bridge‘s mission is to:
“To provide services, information, connections and support to make London Bridge the capital’s best managed and desirable business destination”.
In November 2005, rate-paying organisations based in the London Bridge-Tower Bridge area first voted to create a Business Improvement District (BID) and pay annual contributions towards a fund used for services, projects and events that benefit businesses and employees located in the London Bridge area.
Towards the end of the initial five year term in November 2010, eligible businesses voted to continue the BID and its services in London Bridge for another five years. To take a look at the 2011-16 BID Proposal click here.
I took a few photos from the Launch night which can be downloaded via my website… here or click the slideshow below.
